I'm a futurist with a foot in the past. Talking about technology and gadgets are my passions...and I'm a huge nerd when it comes to comics. If you can imagine a kid from the 1940's who sat by the radio listening to tales of heroes in the future while reading comic books and wishing they had Dick Tracey's watch...that's me.

Iron Man 3 opened this past weekend. I saw it and all I could think was that, “I want to be Tony Stark.” If you’ve seen any Iron Man movie, you’ve seen the amazing technology that Tony Stark possesses and as a nerd, I couldn’t have been more green with envy. It makes you want the future now. I then think of all the advancements in technology that we have. We have technology that is currently being developed that is location-aware, can take pictures, record videos, all from a wearable small display. That is the future. But we don’t have to wait for the future to see amazing technology. We have so much cool tech around us that we are becoming desensitized. I formed & communicated with a group in real time about movie times, then proceeded to buy those tickets all from my phone. When I got to the movie theatre, I then passed the ticket booth, walked right up to the counter who then scanned my phone & let me into the theatre to watch a movie in 3D. The technology that we surround ourselves with is absolutely incredible. To say that we aren’t living in the future would be a lie. To say that technology hasn’t enriched our lives would be a travesty to all of those amazing scientists and dreamers who made the world that we live in a possibility.

Waiting for Never

I hate procrastinating.

I’ve been told that I need to work on my time management.

I’ve tried to maintain a blog / website off and one for the past 10 years or so. It’s gotten to the point where I write posts and wait for the relaunch of a site to post them. Days go by. Once a few days go by its easier to push a post back a week. A week turns into a month. Then it becomes irrelevant and the cycle begins again.

I’m envious of those who are good not only with words but putting those words to paper or screen. I always want to hesitate and reread my words to make sure everything is perfect. I want perfection on the first try. However that is not realistic. People get better at things by working on them. Practice makes perfect.
